Closing the books (literally)

It’s about time to call it a year. To move into the next one a little lighter, you can

  • reconcile your accounts through December

  • check that all bank and credit card feeds are still connected

  • clear up any expenses that were left uncategorized

  • verify distributions and transfers are labeled correctly

  • make a note of any large purchases or one-time expenses from this year

  • confirm what you paid contractors this year for 1099s

  • take a photo of your car’s odometer if you track mileage for business

  • download and save your bank and credit card statements for the year

Wishing you all the best in 2026!
