A continuation, not a reset
Do I enjoy bookkeeping? My honest answer is yes. Is it fun? Not really. It takes focus, consistency, and care. What is fun is meeting new clients, hearing their stories, and helping them understand their numbers for what’s next.
The way I work gives me the freedom that matters to me. I can take Buddy to the beach when I need a break from screens, and I reconcile accounts in my backyard. I shape my days to stay connected to my life instead of feeling separate from it.
I’m grateful for where things are now because I'm able to enjoy what I do while still being myself. I’ve never been an office person. I love numbers and getting things right, but I’m as creative as I am structured. I value purpose and independence, and I hold myself to high standards because that’s how I work best.
This new year feels more like a continuation than a reset. You keep going when it’s boring, difficult, and unclear. It’s a shift from refinement toward confidence and decisive progress, building on what’s already in motion, and I’m looking forward to the things to come.
