What does a bookkeeper actually do? (And do you need one?)

Let’s be honest, bookkeeping can feel like one big question mark. So what do I actually do?

Here’s the short version - I help you make sense of the numbers so you can focus on what you actually enjoy. A bookkeeper keeps track of the financial day-to-day in your business, like what’s coming in, how much is being spent, and where it’s all going.

That means categorizing your income and expenses, reconciling your accounts, and keeping everything up to date and accurate. It also means less stress at tax time and more clarity around how your business is really doing, not just a vague idea based on your bank balance.

Here’s how I support my clients every month:

- Organizing your income into clear, meaningful categories

- Breaking down your expenses so you know exactly where your money is going

- Helping you make confident business decisions based on real numbers

You don’t need to be making six figures or have a perfect system in place. Most of my clients come to me with a messy Quickbooks file, a spreadsheet that stopped working for them, or no system at all. That’s totally fine.

You’re not meant to do it all yourself. And as a business owner, bookkeeping probably isn’t the best use of your time.
