Not every bookkeeper gets your business
The most important part of my work is understanding my clients and what makes their businesses theirs, because the difference between clean and misleading books usually comes down to the details. Even one or two small mistakes can have a big impact on the results.
Income is looked at with context - Revenue is reviewed based on where it comes from, how it’s recorded, and what’s normal for how the business operates.
Expenses reflect real operations - Spending is categorized according to day-to-day activity, and a chart of accounts is shaped for each business.
Patterns don’t get missed - Seasonal changes, one-time costs, and recurring charges are tracked so each month’s numbers make sense next to the last.
Questions are asked early - Anything that needs clarification is addressed during the review process, before reports are finalized.
Reports are genuinely useful - A P&L only works when it clearly shows how money is earned and spent.
A bookkeeper who gets it right is one of the best gifts you can give your business.
