I appreciate the noise and energy of cities as much as I love the openness of the coast. What’s important to me is movement, from the mismatched chaos of downtown to the promise of crashing waves. 

I grew up outside of Chicago and moved to Los Angeles after college with $5,000 in my bank account. I didn’t have a job or know anyone, but it felt like the right choice. I worked in fashion and celebrated the city in beautiful clothes until I found my way into accounting. Four years at a small firm taught me everything that makes me confident in what I do.

Anyone who has started a business knows it has a way of turning your focus inward. It’s personal, and you begin to see your own patterns, habits, and discipline more clearly than you ever planned to. You keep learning, and each step forward shows you something you couldn’t have understood standing still.
